World Connect Competition are to enter the Endurance Inside Championship (EIIC) in 2012 with a Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Evo. The entry will be contingent on winning a place through the practice round held at Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track on March 09th.

The team appeared in the Race Department Le Mans Series and at FFSCA Endurance-rFactor during last season competing with the Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Evo and Saleen S7 R with two best finishes of 4th in class. The hope is for 2012 that the experience of running the 997 and the strengthening of the driver roster through recent additions will allow the team to regularly compete for podium positions.

“We are attracted to the apparent high level of organisation and the level the drivers in the league, we are also looking forward to using the Race Connection endurance plugin which we were impressed with in our race at FFSCA Endurance rFactor” English speaking driver Richard Roberts said of the teams decision to pursue a place in the 2012 EIIC.

World Connect Competition will continue to sport its distinctive pink and white colour scheme.

The final round of the RDLMS Season turned out to be a small success for World Connect Competition. The drivers of the team have not only shown themselves to be reliable but also to be competitive throughout the 12 Hours of Le Mans.

Although the team has chosen to enter the race with a setup that compromised top speed in favour of stability, World Connect Competition was still able to aim for the GT2 podium while starting from the middle of a 17 cars strong GT2 grid. Sadly, the battle for a podium place was over when the 12 Hours of Le Mans reached its tenth hour and a careless P2 driver approached the slightly slower World Connect Competition 977 GT3 RSR inside the high speed Porsche Curves and failed in his overtake attempt pushing the RSR off the track straight into the track barriers. The team car received heavy damage and lost one lap to the 3rd position in GT2 class while being repaired in the pits. World Connect Competition finished 4th in GT2 class and 16th out of 42 starters.

After two DNFs due to technical failures at Sebring International Raceway and Daytona International Speedway, finishing fourth at Road America as well as Circuit de la Sarthe and a 8th place at Road Atlanta, World Connect Competition was able to finish the RDLMS GT2 Team Championship with 23 points, missing a place in the top 6 by only 3 points.

The RDLMS was a very interesting and exciting experience with many positive and a few negative aspects for World Connect Competition. Altogether the team has learned a lot about league races, team play and fairness on track and has created a good level confidence and solidarity during this season to meet the requirements for future endurance races, and most of all endurance series!

The Team of World Connect Competition wishes to thank everybody who was involved in RDLMS Season 3. This includes the participants, their teams, the creators, the administration, the broadcasters, the providers, Race Department itself and those who have been forgotten but should be mentioned here.

See you next season!
